Wedding Castle

Hello everyone :)

Well finally got around to doing my niece's Wedding card - which is this Valentine's Day!

I googled and found this picture of a castle, so I made it into a 3d. They are being married in an old church and the recpetion is at a castle - so thats where I got the idea.

Painted it with my water coloured pencils. I felt a bit more confident this time, and tried to remember what was said about shading with colours to represent shadows and such. The tutorials I read are for copics markers - and as I dont have them - I thought the principal would be basically the same for watercolours... The more I practice the better I will get I suppose!!! Practice makes perfect!

Oh I guess I had better show you the card huh

I am sorry for the crappy photo. I cant seem to find the lamp I was using before, so I go to my bathroom as it is very bright in there. You can sort of make out the 3d of the turrets and towers. I have another pic which might show it a little better - cant quite make out the 3d flags either.

I also made the background of the castle with water colours.

I coloured blotches of blue randomly and then on the side put blotches of white and then used my wet brush to blend the pencil to create different shades of blue for the sky. I was hoping the white would help to make scattered cloud aswell - I think it has come out really well :)

Added the castle part to some purple card which I cut with scalloped scissors. Added the orangy pink to the gold card for a bit of contrast. Matted stamped "Congratulations" as my alphabet stamp was too big to do their names down the side. To finish off added pink gems to the corners.

I guess this isnt the normal kind of Wedding card, but I think when you make someone a card it is nice to have a personal touch aswell if you are able.

Before I go - thank you to those who let me know about the feedburner stuff, its back to normal now :)

Also those who are praying and thinking positively for the Australians affected by these bushfires - keep them going please

Til next time take care of yourself!
