Learning to stamp

Hello :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day and weekend!

The wedding was fabulous - I cried the second I saw her walking down the aisle....
I am a sook I admit it!!
Hard to believe the beautiful young woman getting married was the same little girl who was always running around! Seems like yesterday not over 20years ago!!

Anyway shall get on with my post.... I have bought myself a couple of sheets of stamps lately and decided I was going to try and jazz up a notebook I bought.

So what do you think (sorry dark pics again!)

I just stamped in black archival ink and coloured the images in metallic pencils.
The butterflies were interesting as the stamped image is just 4 wings and very small antennae. I added a body and outlined each wing, then added the dot to brighten them slightly.
The big flowers are double outlines - I did try and colour the bottom one but liked the squiggle edge. All these images would look great with layering :)
Each corner had a border design and I added little flowers to each side and then spaced them evenily to make the border - added leaves with the green metallic pencil (cant see well)
I do wish I had done this on a white background - may do another one another time and experiment with colours and techniques etc :)
This past week I have been fortunate enough to win 2 blog candies - and 1 is a sheet of stamps from Elusive Images - so I want to practive so I can use them when they arrive. I have so many stamps and I am a bit nervy using them!!
Til next time have a lovely day!!
