I promised Id be back - and I am :)
Been quite productive on the computer tonight - I actually got my awards re-posted so that's one thing out of the way!! Then I did some other stuff on another blog I am doing - making some blinkies and fun stuff like that. Enjoying arty stuff today :) Nothing too elaborate, but hey I am learning :)
Now here is my next card for the sale - sticking with the Valentine's theme - may do a dozen Valentine's cards or maybe up to 20. Dont want to be left with loads if they dont sell. I was thinking maybe not having the word Valentine on too many??? Then they can be used for other occasions somehow?? What do you think?
So here it is........
I found a pack of cards that already had the heart punched out - so I looked and thought I would do a woven background. I used strips of red paper and strips of a rose wrapping paper I had. I like the randomness of the blooms, leaves and stalks. The white background just adds enough contrast I think.
Done some doodles around the edge of the heart. First was a line of dots, but they got a bit lost so then did some faux stitched to widen it a bit... Wasnt overly convinced when I did it but I love it now. Used the same red pen to rule a slight border around the edge of the card and colour that in.

Decided against anything for a background on the actual card front as it seemed a bit busy with the weaving - so found my Valentine stamps and just a simple "Be Mine" was added across the bottom. Still looked lost and I wasnt too sure what to do and then I found it - the bow stamp - added one to the bottom of the heart (which I think was perfect!) and to finish off added the two bows in the top corners to balance out the stamping on the bottom.
I have done the inside with strip of the rose wrapping paper and ruled another red border - Now to decide on the sentiment..... "You Are Woven in My Heart" or just "Valentine" to go on from the Be Mine on the front.... love your opinion :)
Well shall let you go -Thankyou again for stopping by - I really appreciate it :)

You are soooo creative! This is stunning. I think "You are woven in my heart" is a really good sentiment to put inside. It just goes with the outside!

This is GORGEOUS! I love the woven inside of the heart. OUTSTANDING card! TFS!
Fantastic, love it.
This is gorgeous Heather, love the paper weaving within the heart.
I think you could use both sentiment ideas, so you have 'Be Mine' on the front and then the inside says ....'Valentine', You are woven in my heart, or just skip the 'valentine' bit and keep the woven in my heart bit. Not sure I've really been any help there...lol. Joanne x

Hi Heather:
What a great idea to insert weaving behind the heart - love your doodling, bows and inside for the sentiment too - great job!
I really like the 'weaving' you did on the card and would go with the 'woven' sentiment.
Gorgeous! Love the weaving and your doodles and stamps complement it perfectly. Fabulous work Heather - keep it up!
